University of Bath - Showcasing Research
University of Bath - Research Stories
This work was carried out by Sophie Ottaway (Account Manager), while employed as Web Content Editor for Business and Research at the University of Bath.
In preparation for the University's submission to the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), the institution required a set of online stories, showcasing the impact of their world leading research.
By meeting with researchers, academics and those who had benefitted from the outcome of the research projects, Sophie was able to write a series of research pieces. The pieces were intended to allow lay people to understand the real world impact of each project.
When researchers were too busy to meet, Sophie was often required to write pieces by repurposing complex funding proposal documents, which outlined the research projects in a great level of technical detail. The pieces were then forwarded to the academics for approval and sign off.
