Department of Biological Sciences content overhaul

While employed as Web Content Editor for the Faculty of Science at the University of Hull, Sophie was asked to review the content on the Biological Sciences website.

The department requested the website be restructured into three core areas: Biology, Biomedical Science and the Centre for Environment and Marine Sciences.

To successfully carry out the project Sophie was required to:.

• Create a project timescale, project managing the task to completion.
• Audit all content, check for timeliness and relevance and update accordingly.
• Ensure all content was written in house style.
• Incorporate JQuery news slider for department news and create template to update in CMS.
• Create basic student testimonial videos (iMovie and Premiere Pro).
• Create new custom templates for use in Immediacy CMS (XHTML, CSS, JQuery and ASP.NET tags).
• Source images from online stock library.
• Commission and brief University photographer for new images.
• Train users in maintaining website using Immediacy CMS.
